West Contra Costa Division was formed in 1968. Now, we have 680
members with most of them living west of the East Bay Ridge. For
our western and northern borders we have the seashores of
San Francisco and San Pablo Bay. Within our Division we have such
towns as El Cerito, Kensington, Richmond, Pinole, El Sobrante, San Pablo, and Hercules.
Who is CalRTA? We are affiliated with CalRTA, the California
State Retired Teachers Association, which has grown to 50,000
members and 91 divisions.
With active grassroots participation
and an excellent legislative advocacy program in
Sacramento and Washington, D.C., we have become the dominant
force in protecting and enhancing the benefits of retired eduators. For
more information about what we do to support retired teachers and
public eduation move your mouse to the upper left column and click the
links to CalRTA and Area 4. At the Area and Division level,
as indicated by the Help for Seniors link, we
are committed to assisting our fellow retirees.
We enjoy
retirement! Locally, we have events such as luncheon
meetings, travel outings, committee meetings, and other
opportunities for fellowship and fun.

This
group is dedicated to informing the public about the WEP and GPO
provisions of social security that adversely impact the income of
thousands of retired educators and public workers in 14 states
including California. It, CalRTA, and other major
associations are in a coalition working hard to get Congress to pass a
bill to eliminate these unfair penalties. For more information and a
